Inter-City was founded under the leadership of Dr. William R. Rice. He directed
the school until his retirement, when Dr. David M. Doran became the pastor of
Inter-City Baptist Church. Approximately 25 full- and part-time teachers are employed
in the school.
All faculty members must be born-again, Bible-believing, separated, fundamentalist
Christian. Each regards teaching Christian young people as a ministry, not a job.
Each is a willing, active participant in the church ministry of Inter-City Baptist
Church.
Teachers typically are assigned courses in which they have a major or minor from
college and many on the teaching staff hold a master's degree or higher credentials.
